All That The River Holds tells the story of Holly Lee Carter, a young, beautiful photojournalist left paralyzed while covering the Vietnam War. When she inherits her family newspaper, she reluctantly leaves Los Angeles and returns to Cattahatchie County — “the last of its kind, even in Mississippi.” As Holly fights to keep the newspaper afloat and out of the hands of the Ku Klux Klan, she comes to believe that her father’s death was no accident. Returning home in a wheelchair, Holly must deal with her own fears, insecurities, frustrations and the reawakening of powerful, long-dormant desires.
